1. About FarewellDesk
FarewellDesk is an estate administration platform that helps families manage the administrative tasks that follow a loved one's passing. We generate correspondence, send notifications to institutions on your behalf, and help you track the status of outstanding tasks.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account and using FarewellDesk, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
3. Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for reviewing and approving all correspondence before it is sent. By approving a letter, you confirm that the information is accurate and that you have the authority to act as executor of the estate. FarewellDesk sends correspondence on your behalf as your agent — you remain the sender of record.
4. Not Legal Advice
FarewellDesk is an administrative tool. Nothing on this platform constitutes legal, financial, or tax advice. Estate administration can involve complex legal obligations depending on your jurisdiction. We strongly recommend consulting a qualified estate lawyer or notary for matters involving probate, will validity, or disputes.
5. Accuracy of Information
The correspondence we generate is based entirely on the information you provide during onboarding. You are responsible for ensuring that all information is accurate, including the deceased's details, your authority as executor, and any account or policy numbers you provide.
6. Document Storage
Documents you upload to the FarewellDesk vault (including death certificates) are stored securely and used only for the purpose of attaching to correspondence you approve. We do not share your documents with third parties except as required to deliver approved correspondence.
7. Limitation of Liability
FarewellDesk is not responsible for how institutions respond to correspondence, delays in institutional processing, or outcomes of estate administration. Our liability is limited to the fees paid for use of the platform, if any. The platform is provided as-is without warranty of any kind.
8. Privacy
Your use of FarewellDesk is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the platform. Continued use of FarewellDesk after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
