What we collect
We collect the information you provide when creating an estate: the deceased's name, date of passing, and location; your name, email address, and role as executor; documents you upload to the vault; and task notes you record.
We also collect standard usage data (pages visited, actions taken) to improve the platform.
How we use it
We use your information to generate and send correspondence on your behalf, track task completion, send follow-up reminders, and provide you access to your estate records. We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.
Who we share it with
We share your information only as necessary to deliver the service:
- Institutions you direct us to contact (banks, insurers, government agencies) — only the information included in approved correspondence
- Our infrastructure providers (Supabase for data storage, Clerk for authentication, Resend for email delivery) — under strict data processing agreements
We do not share your documents or estate details with any third party beyond what is required to deliver approved correspondence.
Data security
All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Documents are stored in a private, access-controlled vault. Only you and estate members you explicitly invite can access your estate data.
Data retention
We retain your estate data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing support@farewelldesk.com.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@farewelldesk.com.
